Mr Theogren Balakrishnan has served as a consultant for over 14 years across diverse healthcare systems, including the HSE in Ireland and private practice in South Africa. He brings a wealth of international expertise in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, supported by a strong focus on clinical governance and surgical education.
His surgical training in South Africa provided a foundation in complex trauma, aesthetic surgery, and reconstruction. This experience was further refined through three prestigious international fellowships, allowing him to transition seamlessly into cosmetic surgery practice.

Mr Theogren Balakrishnan combines international surgical training with a strong emphasis on patient safety and multidisciplinary care. Throughout his career in both public and private healthcare systems, he has prioritised a patient-centred approach and works closely within MDT frameworks to ensure high standards of safety, care, and surgical outcomes.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Balakrishnan has been actively involved in surgical education. He is a former Royal College of Surgeons Ireland surgical trainer and examiner, a former undergraduate lecturer, a trainer for the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, and a member of the Icoplast Council on membership and communication.
